Customer service for the deaf
Customer service for the deaf

On 1 January 2010, Assistència Sanitària Col·legial launched a new service specifically for attending to deaf people. Deaf members of ASC now have a sign language interpretation service for scheduled visits.

HOW TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT

To help in making an appointment to a health centre, deaf people can contact us by sms or e-mail, indicating:

- name and surname
- ASC membership number
- healthcare centre where you want an appointment
- type of visit
- 2 dates and 2 times

The deaf person will receive an sms or e-mail confirming the time and date of the appointment.

* If you need a sign language interpreter for the appointment, please indicate "INTERPRETER" in the message. An sms will be sent to the deaf person confirming the time and date of the appointment and details of the interpreter.

HOW TO REQUEST THE INTERPRETER SERVICE

If the deaf person has already made an appointment and only wants to request the interpreter service, he/she must send an sms or e-mail requesting the service, indicating:

- name and surname
- ASC membership number
- date and time of visit
- healthcare centre where you want an appointment
- type of visit

HOW TO CONTACT US

This can be by e-mail asc@interprets.org or by sms to 687 317 899.

WHERE TO FIND INFORMATION ABOUT THIS SERVICE

The ASC web site has been adapted and now includes videos in sign language in those sections with spoken content, so that deaf people can access the content without difficulty.

If you want more detailed and personalised information, you can visit any ASC branch and we shall attend to you personally (by appointment) with a sign language interpreter to dispel any possible doubts.

For a personalised visit, you must first ask for an appointment by sms to 687 317 899 or by e-mail to asc@interprets.org.
